Purpose: I need a place to store my thoughts as they are leaking out of my brain and I have a relatively small audience of people that care to hear them.
This site is $$\LaTeX$$ enabled. I am a mathematician by degree and sometimes strike upon the need to discuss math. $$\TeX$$ enables me to produce quality discussions on this site.
I have a background in information security. The current political climate is just wrought with discussion topics.
Linux/MicroSoft/Apple? Why not all three? (Android = Linux). I have used and/or administered a variety of systems. All have advantages and disadvantages.
Web design. As long as I don’t have to talk about a colour scheme, I’m ok. If you look at http://jayctheriot.com, you will see, I’m just not that colour oriented. (I do love the different hues of purple.)
Hurricanes. I have lost almost everything a few times in my life. I like data manipulation. PTSD+Data Manipulation = Hurricane tracking with Generic Mapping Tools.
These are the few ideas I have for this site. More will appear. I try to stay as non-political and diplomatic as possible. We are all in this together.
