My last post on September 5th was one of reserved joviality.\u00a0 I had been officially notified of my long-term disability.\u00a0 One less thing to worry about.\u00a0 However, I do so wish I could return to work.\u00a0 My condition is anything but predictable and that is a huge limiting factor in ever obtaining gainful employment.\u00a0 I am saddened by that.\u00a0 I was known by some of my co-workers as a beast.\u00a0 I would stay with critical issues sometimes as long as 36 hours or more without sleep.\u00a0 Now, my stamina is a few minutes.\u00a0 A vast change in only a few years.<\/p>\n
September 5th, I was also increased on my Baclofen.\u00a0 I began the normal routine of my body adjusting and slept a bit.<\/p>\n
September 6th, my birthday, had a fair amount of friends over to my house to see me disappear to the bedroom.<\/p>\n
September 7th, I was in the CCU, intubated.<\/p>\n
I returned home a week later, with MRSA, Pneumonia and bruised up like there is no tomorrow.<\/p>\n
I am resting and recovering well at home.<\/p>\n
I have much, so much to write about, but I just can’t seem to get it into words.\u00a0 To say it was\u00a0 a terrifying experience, is not saying enough.\u00a0 I am at a loss for words to articulate this part of my journey.<\/p>\n
I will say I met many wonderful nurses, of all levels in the hospital.\u00a0 My stalwart knight, my wife, was my strength, even to her own detriment.<\/p>\n
When I finally regained the ability to touch social media, I couldn’t believe the prayers from my friends.\u00a0 One gentleman, whom I hadn’t spoken to since 1992, reached out to me on Saturday night.\u00a0 This was the first night that I was unrestrained.<\/p>\n
It would be impossible for me to thank everyone.\u00a0 There are too many angels out there.<\/p>\n
I am at home.\u00a0 Resting and recovering.\u00a0 Surrounded by love.<\/p>\n
