The answer to preventing both is simple. \u00a0My wife tells me this all the time. \u00a0Be in the momment. \u00a0Don’t get on your phone. \u00a0Look someone in the face. \u00a0Physically touch them, not virtually.<\/p>\n
There are a number of people that would benefits from personal contact as their situation denies them the ability to see people.<\/p>\n
Make the effort now. \u00a0Go visit them. Take them to lunch. Give them your time.<\/p>\n
I appreciate the $72,000 a restaurant dedicated to the cause, but donating money is not physically attending to someone.<\/p>\n
I am not talking about myself. \u00a0This is not a plea. \u00a0I have people that I can, and do, talk to around the clock. \u00a0Working in IT for a number of years, your former peers are always working.<\/p>\n
I have a hell of a family of people. \u00a0Few are biological. \u00a0But, people like JS and JG and a number of others are my bretheren. \u00a0I don’t need a phone number. \u00a0I’ve got their ears 24\/7. \u00a0I sometimes fuss them for not sleeping as I’m crying on their shoulder.<\/p>\n
Don’t only donate money to a cause. \u00a0That is nice, but it doesn’t address what you really need to do: \u00a0Give the people your time.<\/p>\n
