My apologies for the tardiness of this article. \u00a0I promised that it would be released today, and I’m running (rolling?) a little late.<\/p>\n
My hands do not behave consistently and they are usually in pain. \u00a0If you see me around and I am wearing leather gloves, it is to reduce the sensory response on my skin generated by touching things. \u00a0Additionally, my forearms, biceps, triceps and shoulder carriage are all involved in writing.<\/p>\n
When a roller-ball pen is used, two things must occur: \u00a01) \u00a0You must make the motions to write legibly, and 2) You must push down on the pen with sufficient force to turn that ball to get the ink to flow.<\/p>\n
A fountain pen eliminates the need for the latter.<\/p>\n
It seems like a very simple solution. I suppose it is. However, Occam\u2019s Razor says the simplest solution is usually the correct one. In this case, Occam is brilliant. Only having to focus on writing and not getting the pen to work is a tremendous accommodation.<\/p>\n
I can, and do write a considerable amount. I keep a journal. It helps me remember as well as think through things. My issues intoxicate me at times. It is during these periods of elevated disability that my journal becomes indispensable. Using a fountain pen allows me to keep a journal.<\/p>\n
I can\u2019t recommend fountain pens enough. I now believe they are truly superior to their roller-ball cousins.<\/p>\n
