{"id":1395,"date":"2017-11-13T09:34:54","date_gmt":"2017-11-13T15:34:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journey.jayctheriot.com\/?p=225"},"modified":"2017-11-13T09:34:54","modified_gmt":"2017-11-13T15:34:54","slug":"2017-nov-13-anniversary-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jayscafe.net\/?p=1395","title":{"rendered":"2017 Nov. 13, Anniversary Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kathy purchased me a new wedding ring that I can wear when the arthritis in my hands have swollen my fingers beyond belief.\u00a0 What a wonderful woman.<\/p>\n<p>I have figured out how to dial the phone system without touching the receiver.\u00a0 I&#8217;m working on implementation now.\u00a0 Actually, I&#8217;ve found several ways.\u00a0 I&#8217;m choosing the path of least resistance, at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>The answer is simple:\u00a0 Linux connected to a modem which is connected to the landline.\u00a0 I can remote into the Linux box dial the phone and then connect to my Bluetooth headset.<\/p>\n<p>Why this way?\u00a0 I don&#8217;t have to keep track of the telephone receiver and it&#8217;s small buttons. I will be able to dial the phone where ever I have access to a keyboard. The BT headset is a wearable.\u00a0 I can drape it around my neck and forget it&#8217;s there.\u00a0 Less baggage to carry in my chair around the house.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m looking for a way to get caller ID information through the net.\u00a0 I think it should be rather simple, but first things first.\u00a0 Autodial, then CID, then voice control.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathy purchased me a new wedding ring that I can wear when the arthritis in my hands have swollen my fingers beyond belief.\u00a0 What a wonderful woman.
